I feel like this tower hasn't changed in months. What have I missed/what's taking so long?

Downtown is really growing. In the years following 9/11, NY looked so unbalanced missing the twins. Now, with the WTC complex and the newer residential towers it is truly an amazing balance again. I do miss the spires on 3, the finished crown on Murray and the spires on 3 would have looked amazing from the Jersey side bookending 1WTC.

The crazy thing about the current picture is how much more insane it will look when the south street buildings and the wall st area new buildings are rising.

The bracing looks fantastic. Can't wait to see this in person.

The glass is so high quality... there are going to be a number of days of stunning reflections. In a way while I am not a fan of BIG's design of WTC2 just to see how the glass reflects will be an awesome sight to see when that troubled project finally gets on track.

As I saw someone else say, the minimal cross-bracing in this design looks so much better than the original design proposal. Although it's not as "interesting" it allows this building to be more in line with the other buildings, and creates a more cohesive feel that I believe would not be present had they not eliminated the cross-bracing in the center.

I think it's a nice design, nicer than expected in fact, even if it is a little on the bulky side. I also think it's a building New Yorkers would love, if not for the huge number of new buildings fighting for attention. Put this somewhere else in Manhattan where it's taller than everything close to it, and let it shine.

But the complex overall is blending nicely.

Pic by me. Taken 5/31/17.

Very muggy/foggy day. From the Verrazano's. Normally the view is surreal when visibility is high.

Also notice the fog. See, SF isn't the only city with fog at the bay. NY has its own fog, in a bay rich in residual PCBs and lead. Courtesy of the fine industries of my great state of NJ (pre-EPA era). The good ol' days!
