(though i had family in franklin, tn, that have since moved to birmingham, and i have been there in january. "sunbelt" might be pushing it.)

that tokyo building is also up there as an intimidator. pyongyang's tower is more depressing than intimidating, in my opinion.

The little red light on top freaks me out to.

Im surprised Dallasbrink didnt mention anything in Fort worth.that city is scary as heck.

I actually find the Drake to be pretty festive.

Sears Tower, though, takes the cake here. A timeless example of unyielding corporate might.

Gotta go with the Sears Tower, followed closely by the Central Park tenement featured in Ghostbusters.

Casselton Oil Company Tower (AKA Bush's Little Prick)

Pacific Gas & Electric Headquarters

(Posthumously) One of the most brutal office complexes ever built

BTW the Nashville tower may not be intimidating but it sure is ugly IMO.

No doubt intimidating. But in a good way IMO. Because it is beautiful to me. Where the Sears Tower, US STeel in Pittsburgh and the North Korean Pyramid are intimidating in the ominous sense.

The Sears Tower is definitely one of the most intimidating. It's black, large, and very scary.

And the pyramid hotel... Yikes! Kinda looks like what I imagined the ministry buildings in 1984 would look like...

Ever since I first saw them in the movie 'The Wiz', I never thought of the WTC as intimidating or ominous. From wikipedia:

"The film The Wiz shows Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion entering "Emerald City", which actually took place on the World Trade Center Plaza. The twin towers were prominently featured during the "Emerald City Ballet Sequence" musical segment where a huge speaker with lights appears in between both buildings. Each time "The Wizard" wanted to change the color of the sequence, he would make an announcement, changing the appearance of everyone's outfits from green, to red, and then to gold. All of the dancing took place on the World Trade Center plaza surrounding the globe statue."

What's the news on Winnipeg's new high-rise construction or Airport construction? Does the hydro building mean there's only one actual high-rise being built in Winnipeg since WHAT? The last high-rise must have been built 30 years ago when I was still in University.....where's the boom? I don't see it...

Agreed...it reminds me of one of those ancient Mayan Temples where they used to torture people and then roll their bodies down the steps.
