Does that count three below-grade levels? The rendering shows 12 stories.

Is "creative office" marketing-speak for an open-floor cubicle farm?

I'd place my bet on the south side of Olive and Layton. These guys seem to be developing the station site last. Maybe so they can create enough demand so they can go taller on that site. Just a wild guess though.

Makes sense. I am interested in seeing the impact of this on Newport Street though, as that has been established as the main pedestrian street in the neighborhood.

Isn’t the entire Belleview Station located in Denver city limits? I hope Newport can be built up as more of a retail/restaurant street there are some good places in there. Those new senior apartments and the office building on Niagara will have some great views.

Anyone see the story on the news about Clayton Lane? Sounds like they are demolishing it all, building a new Whole Foods and adding two streets. The news labeled it unecessary and a “cherry creek thing to do.” Lol anyways plans look pretty cool with 8 story buildings replacing the sears and it’s supposed to start this spring.

San Diego-based OliverMcMillan made a big splash when it recently paid almost $170 million for Clayton Lane, the western gateway to Cherry Creek.

OliverMcMillan, which purchased the 5.4-acre site property in a partnership with Invesco Real Estate, plans to redevelop the high-profile parcel.
This is right in OliverMcMillan's wheelhouse so it would make sense construction would start this next year. Invesco as an equity partner probably means foreign investors.

OliverMcMillan still has this project on their website

Earlier concepts I heard about only demolished to the west of the shops on Clayton Lane. So, the bldgs facing Clayton would stay and everything else would go. They also planned at that time to reconnect the block to the west of Clayton back to 1st. But, we'll see what comes out of the current design process.

National developers sometimes have more access to financing and national tenants. However they can also be conservative and data-driven, not big risk takers. Also they might have potential projects in several cities, which they then choose from in any given year. In other words, a national developer doesn't necessarily mean a project is more likely to happen. Though Denver does seem to be doing well in general.

speaking of CCN, I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere but CB2 is opening a store at 2nd and St Paul in first or second quarter 2018. Thought it would end up in the Safeway building but there is something else slated for that space

According to Councilmember New’s office, the Macy’s furniture store will be moving to the Safeway building to make way for redevelopment of the west side of the center.

I am going to wait until the mall makes an announcement on this one. Elway's just extended their lease (I think) and I have not heard anything about any of the other stores in the area moving. Further that Safeway space seems to be extremely large for a furniture showroom.

That is surprising- I wonder why they are waiting so long to make the formal announcement.

Happy New Year!

The best thing about this year's Christmas had to be Hello Giggles.

Did anybody else happen to catch this very cool 9News story/video? Video of incredible 16th Street Mall pianist goes viral

Here's to a new year of more high rises and falling rental rates.
