Hamburg | Alsterzentrum

Hello everyone!

Theres one big project of the 60s missing in die Hamburg diagram! It's the Alsterzentrum, also called Alstermanhattan, which was planned from 1966 in the district of St Georg. It was planned for around 20,000 people with residental und commercial parts. On the bottom with shopping centres, at the top residental in five up to 63-floor-high skyscrapers. The exact height is unknown, but well over 200 meters. (Residental area 450.000 sq. meters, commercial ara 470.000 sq. meters). They wanted to scrap half the area of St Georg for this project. In the early 70s it was cancelled ...
