Awesome pics my friend, Thanks a ton for sharing them. Tacoma gets overlooked pretty often having Seattle so close by. It’s been a good year since I was last there “McChord AFB” . However I’m currently trying to get stationed up there. No luck thus far.

^^^ Thanks, Texan. Good luck getting that transfer. I'm sure we would be lucky to have you here.

What I've got today are just a few extra things that I snapped in the 38th St / Nalley Valley area this afternoon while wandering around with my coffee.

The Police Fleet HQ is fairly new, and occupies the old Costco building.

I have no idea what these are:

Some more general shots looking out over Nalley Valley:

Java Jive is one of Tacoma's older restaurant/bar establishments. In spite of its being a dive, people seem to like it. Apparently it used to have a "jungle room" filled with plastic plants in which two live chimps lived, who were named "Java" and "Jive", respectively:

Construction is coming along quite nicely on the SR-16 overpass/highway exchange project. SR-16 connects Interstate 5 to the Narrows Bridge and Olympic Peninsula beyond:

Atlas Foundry appears in the distance, on the other side of the overpasses:

...and now I'm off to go mow the lawn.

Fascinating look at Tacoma. I like that high school, and your commentary on the statue cracked me up!

Ha! My folks took us on that tour around that same time. I think we stopped at the Pendleton shirt factory in Oregon on that same trip. You know, I should drag my kids through more factories.
