The digital display going on the outside of Block 23, facing Jefferson, is going to be SWEET. I'm told it's bigger than the one on Chase Field and the resolution is really high.

And it'll be pretty close to street level, so should really make an impact when you're driving down Jefferson!

The Ryan Apartments

Here is the website for the Ryan apartments on Block 23. There are some pictures of the LED board facing Jefferson but the pictures don’t do it justice. I walked by it today and it is going to be a massive screen.

https://theryanapartmentsphoenix.com...SAAEgIYy_D_BwE

Also, it looks like there will be screens on the corner of Washington and 2nd St.

The photo of those millennials enjoying watermelon slices really do a great job of portraying life at The Ryan.

If not for millennials, PHX would still be a getting beige stucco boxes built everywhere. You're welcome.

I’m not a millennial and that location is starting to appeal to me. Can you imagine - Monroe’s Hot Chicken whenever you wanted just walking distance down the street??

Love watching Downtown evolve - maybe after my kids are done with HS in a few years I will find myself downtown somewhere...

Guys, it's a comment about the stupid watermelon picture, not a dig at downtown.

WeWork Appears to be in some financial trouble, wonder what that means for block 23 since they were leasing half the building.

Who knows, but saw this:

Quote:
WeWork has put a halt to the signing of new lease agreements with property owners as the lossmaking group tries to rapidly rein in costs, according to people briefed on the matter.

The move will rattle commercial property owners across the globe who rented to WeWork, which often upgraded the spaces so the group could re-let the buildings to its own customers.

Landlords have been bracing for the possibility that WeWork, which has become the biggest office tenant in New York and one of the largest in London, could suspend its expansion.

The decision to put all new leases on ice comes as WeWork’s parent group, the We Company, readies to lay off thousands of its 12,000-plus employees in the coming weeks.

Went to the grand opening this morning. Much nicer than I had expected. Great selection and layout. Very well done.

I walked over to CVS afterwards as that was once the exciting new thing for us downtown dwellers and today was crickets

Lol, I'll bet. I wonder how long CVS will be in business now with Fry's open? I give it less than a year.

eh, IMHO CVS/Wallgreens can coexist near full service grocer's you see it all the time, they fill different niche's even if they have lots of product overlap

Some insurance companies strongly encourage one pharmacy over another for prescriptions. I know that I'm expected to use Walgreens in order to pay the least.
