Sorry, I was rushing to post it haha.

I got it from a newspaper article, possibly SFgate a few days ago when it was announced that the Oakland A's would go with a circular stadium instead of it being a rectangle/square. I saw those photos in the end of the slideshow and I've never seen those before.

Actually, after doing a Google search, I found these links!

For future reference, the easy way to figure something like this out is to hit the "quote" button on a post doing what you want to do (like, say, post a youtube video) and that way you can see how it's done.

Anyway, not to slam Oakland but I'm always kind of surprised how empty its streets look in photos like this--makes me think they were maybe taken early on a Sunday morning or something.

But that said, very nice set of pictures of happening projects and thanks for putting in the effort to post them.
(It is hard to put photos on here. You gotta get them hosted, etc...*sighs*)

Oakland has so much infill to be had, it's incredible. Also, every new building that isn't obviously still under construction (of which, everything feels slow to go up) seems just be...about...ready to...open. Like, everything feels at 85% and I want to believe they'll all open without arson being set to them, but Oakland's current body of work on that subject forces me to remain cautiously optimistic. << is that being pessimistic?

Just go to imgur.com and you can upload anything for free, also they create links for BBCode.

After nearly a decade, developer gears up for Oakland tower

By Fiona Kelliher – Real estate reporter, San Francisco Business Times
Apr 2, 2019, 2:05pm PDT

Balco first snagged approvals for a 382-unit tower at 325 7th St. back in 2011. But the company extended its approvals in both 2013 and 2014, and tried to sell the property to no avail. In 2016, the developer applied to decrease the units to just 160 and reduce the building’s height. The concern was that “no one could make the numbers work for a highrise," said Rachel Flynn, Oakland's former planning director, told the Business Times at the time.

But now the development team has had a change of heart, said the project’s current planner, Maurice Brenyah-Addow, and will stick to the original basic design and build out the 24-story tower, which also includes about 9,000 square feet of commercial space. Balco did not respond to requests for comment.

New 110-unit Apartment is now open right by Coliseum BART in Oakland

Quote:
Coliseum Connections’ market-rate units will be rented for $2,200 to $2,700 and the affordable ones for $1,100 to $1,570, according to a news release from the city and UrbanCore. Available units include 66 one- and two-bedroom flats, as well as 44 two-story townhomes. There also is an 86-space parking structure.

Despite the project taking 17 years to plan, it took a quick 17 months to build. The relative speed is credited to developers using “modular construction techniques” to stack pre-fabricated units on top of each other.

It is about halfway to 40-stories and the skin is about 10-floors (on 1-2 sides) so far. The midrise wrapping the garage is topped out. I took pics last week and will be walking by later today so will snap a couple more. However, I've never posted one on here so will need to figure that out. The glass looks very cool. Even though it's only reached the halfway mark in erection, you can clearly see it on 880 North approaching Downtown. So at full build-out, it'll really have a commanding presence.

There's a way to get the BBCode for the images you uploaded. Try to check my process again.

Another way it to right click and "Open image in new tab", then copy the link into a post and place "[img.] (Link here.jpg)[/img.]" but remove the period in the end.

Also, use the link for the "Huge Thumbnail" as Original picture sizes are HUGE

Thanks, Gillynova. I will get it right soon and, when I do, I'll be posting pics all the time!! I'll take another crack at it using your suggestions here.

This needs to happen. I-980 is a scar on the city that serves as an underused 2.5 mile shortcut between other freeways. Removing it would open up 17 acres of city-owned land for new development that could and should include affordable housing, which remains in short supply regionally.
