London finished the year at 6 and with 375,000 that's a pretty low number.

Seems like this is the only statistic where Thunder Bay competes with larger cities.

My guess is mostly natives, likely on reserves, as usual. I think one was in Plum Coulee though, so non native related.

The four homicides this year all took place/near First Nation Communities.

The Plum Coulee homicide took place late last year, as well as a homicide in Thompson. So 6 Homicides in just over a week.

Montreal is at one after a woman was found in a basement.

Possibly domestic violence. The husband has been detained. I gotta say that dude looks awfully familiar.....scary.

Interesting. Montreal had exactly double that, and yet is 4x bigger.

No, these are municipal figures, not CMA figures. Montreal had a MUCH higher murder rate. 35 murders in a city of 1.65 million versus 17 in a city of 1.1 million.

1.95 million. The 35 figure is for the whole island.

Montreal 1.78/100k

Calgary 1.54/100k.

Far from a MUCH higher rate.

Okay, still a higher rate than Calgary. Now tell me how many of those 35 were in Montreal proper.

Those are both very low rates for large cities.
