I'm very excited to see this one rise. I think it will become a great addition to the area.

Another new art-deco inspired tower for Toronto. I hope this and 1 St. Thomas start a trend!

There's too much art deco inspired crap in Toronto and I certainly wouldn't count on this one being on par with One St Thomas. Fingers & toes crossed though as the last thing Bloor Yorkville needs is 50 storeys of your typical Pemberton (developer) excellence.

Here's some photos i took earlier today...

This shot has Casa in the background:

Here's a shot of Manulife, Crystal Blu, and Uptown Residences... It really shows how tall Crystal Blu is and how congested the area is gonna get... Gotta love it!!!!

Here are some shots of Crystal blu:

Excellent update. I love the setbacks of Uptown and how Crystal Blu animates what would otherwise be a boring street.

Wow, I'm amazed at how much that area of Younge has been/is being developed...looks nothing like what it did even 5 years ago...

Well... 1 Bloor is dead so I don't know what Great Gulf Homes is gonna call whatever they put on the site... THEY'D BETTER PUT SOMETHING FREAKIN TALL ON THE SITE OR ELSE I'M GONNA KILL SOMEONE -maybe

I want to see a 200m+ building AT LEAST on that site... But I have a feeling if Great Gulf Homes is gonna put anything on the site they'd stick with a 150m building just because they haven't done anything tall yet... They might play it safe that way...

But four seasons is gonna be good but it's kinda sad how FS is in the outskirts of the skyline and is not surrounded by very dense areas (it doesn't have anything to back it up with

Uptown Res. is really gonna change the overall appearance of the area... it seems really Manhattan Like and is gonna feel that way... It's really hard to picture a finished Uptown Residences in the area... I wanna see how it's gonna look in "real life"...

I SERIOUSLY envy New York's version of density... I was there last year and every street you take has massive street canyons, density and skyscrapers.... In many cases the average height would be like 150m for each building... And I love how all the buildings look right next to each other and match in height, shape, etc... and how they are so close to each other... But of course it's unfair to compare toronto with da big apple.

NY density with Bank of America Tower (look at that MASSIVE steetwall/canyon) when r we ever gonna see somethin like this in TO :

^^We have a few canyons like that in T.O., just not nearly as many as N.Y., a city whose density of skyscrapers is unrivalled.

The infuriating scuttlebutt emanating out of Great Gulf is that people like us shouldn't get our hopes up. It'll more than likely be something a lot more modestly-sized than 1 Bloor. Over at UT, forumers are speculating perhaps two towers in the range of 65 and 55 storeys. Nothing to sneeze at, but not the breathtaking tower that befits this important intersection.
