The state and city have been spending a lot of time discussing utilities hence the multiple AULCC meetings. The massive amount of excavation needed for all that parking under the the two building sites and Congress Ave must be affecting a lot of utilities.

Stuff might start to happen soon; half of the parking lot at 1801 Congress has been fenced off and cars are now only parking on the side of the lot adjacent 18th. IDK what this means but it's the first signs of activity since September when ground broke

EDIT: Looks like just a staging area for utility work as of right now

I saw a height listed for that published by towers.net, but I haven't been able to find a site plan yet.

I don't remember if this was posted or not, but it's the master plan for the buildout of the complex. About a dozen of these stacking plans look to be ~200 feet.

Overall, I think this will be pretty nice, depends on what is added as far as retail and restaurants to attract foot traffic. My wish list would be to add some water features and attractions, museums, entertainment, ect...and eliminate the traffic intersections all together so walkers and bicyclists won't have to cross lanes of traffic. I'm guessing the east to west lanes will have traffic lights just for pedestrian crossings.

Here are some renderings of the North Austin campus that is U/C. There is a lot more info at the link under the renderings.

I added this construction webcam for 1601 & 1801 Congress to the development link sticky thread.

That site prep must have been a false start. I don't know what the hold up is at this point.

That's what Bisnow says. Both buildings and the first three blocks of the promenade are part of the Phase I funded portion of the Capitol Complex improvements that will be built over the next four years.

Looky here, a dump truck parked on the site today. Maybe in another week or so an excavator will show up. The official groundbreaking was almost a year go. Geez.

This pattern looks like archeological excavation. There was probably an historic building at that location at one time, and they were checking to see if there was any foundation remaining. If there was, it might need to be measured at catalogued before further demolition.

Whoever owns that red vehicle better move it before the construction worker shows up to dig...

After 5 months passing, I pretty much gave up but thanks for responding. Pretty interesting.

This is one of my favorite projects. Huge eyesore parking lot getting replaced by a government building that has civilian interaction. Its a crucial location. Glad the man got it right for once.
