The Indigo hotel? I know there's about 30+ leins on that building that still haven't been paid. The hotel is going nowhere fast. From those involved I hear the owner has no money, and Canadian Western Bank has pulled out from financing it further.

The Yuk Yuks is separate from the hotel, although they do share some of the building systems.

I don't have any insight on recent developments for the hotel, I do know it was shopped last year and they were practically only asking for land value.

Not sure if it's been officially mentioned here but the space in Mantra on 4th at Pine is going to be a No Frills.

Area could use a grocery store, but I have to say it does hurt my feelings a bit.

seemed odd to me. people paying $800/SF to live in that neighbourhood - something tells me they'd rather be shopping somewhere else

Paying that much, maybe leaves them only being able to afford shopping at No Frills.

Ron.

There's also a No Frills at Jericho Village (4th & Alma) - even further into the West Side!

Hopefully they won't block out all the windows like the one on Broadway in the old Office Depot.

I haven't been past the new one on Fraser - that one may provide some insight as to this one's exterior appearance.

Not everyone pays that much-I certainly don't.

And if someone wants to throw down large it's a 5 minute walk to Granville Island-ditto Capers/Whole Paycheck up the street.

The Mcdonald's Express inside Save-On-Foods at Burnaby Station Square is now history as it was closed permanently today.
Don't know whether its lease has expired or has something to do with the Station Square redevelopment proposal.

Sporting Life is looking to expand to Vancouver.

Probably some time around 2015 we could expect the first store.

The TD bank in yaletown has the worst pedestrian engagement/experience from the sidewalk. That end of Hamilton is dead.

It's a shame that another retailer couldn't make it work here. That said, I might change banks for the convenience of the location.

The former Koolhaus location at 1 Water St will be a store called Seacret Location. And no it's not a spelling error. It's leased the entire 11K sq ft and I can only guess it's another furniture store.

Finally another lease has been made after sub-dividing 982 Granville. That leaves the larger corner space left.

according to the woman who is opening it, she wants to sell her favourite things from clothes to housewares & furniture etc. she described it as a mini dept store where she has shopped/sourced the world for what she sells

Good to hear. Thanks for that.
Speaking of Robson, Have they done, or are there any plans for "spiffing up" the street. I don't mean Victoria bauble lights and baskets; just maybe crisper designed lamposts, smarter sidewals, street furniture, lighting features or such. If Robson is Vancouver's answer to Rodeo Drive, it needs a bit of cosmetic surgery .
