The glass railings sterilized it. This tendency to make every space injury-proof is so annoying. Is it so bad for a small child to somehow accidentally run off the pathway and roll down the small embankment? If it's about preventing damage to the growing medium caused by frequent short-cuts, why not formalize it with several concrete steps? It's like they're assuming that everyone is wheelchair-bound.
Better yet, lower the pathway or raise the green roof so that it's flush with railing height.
