I'll add them. I was wondering if you could list for each of the proposals at least the street they are/were planned for, or the intersection if they were/are proposed to sit at one? Also, if you know enough about architectural styles, it would be great if you could add those, too, but they are no big deal if you can't. BTW, is Lake Point an actual proposal or vision, and was Multi-Use just a vision or an actual proposal? We have something in between called stale proposal if it's more like that.

First Place on the River - West Seeboth Street and South First Place

Multi-Use High-Rise - North Water Street and East Michigan Street
This building doesn't seem to have ever had an actual name, but it was to replace the parking garage for Chase [Bank] Tower. It seems to have been more of a "vision" than any kind of solid proposal.

Lake Point Tower - East Michigan Street
CGII lists the wrong architect....Kahler Slater is the architect, Halvorson & Partners is an engineering firm working on the project. It can be considered as a "proposed" project.

401 West Wisconsin - West Wisconsin Avenue and North 4th Street

They are all modern in architectural style.

Thanks mate. ^
But wasn't the Multi Use Tower actually presented to Chase? I wasn't sure whether to call it vision or cancelled, as the reason it was terminated was that Chase had no interest in construction.

The Multi-Use Tower seemed to be one of those things that was designed independent of anybody...it was more of a developer's vision for a hypothetical project more than anything else. Someting a developer does on their own and then contacts the property owner to see if they're interested.

In early 2005 (before Bank One became Chase), there was an artcile briefly mentioning Williams Development working on these plans for the Bank One Parking Garage...but in that same artcile, a spokesperson from Bank One said they hadn't heard anything about it. Ultimately, after approaching the bank, it was decided not pursue the idea any further because the bank was not interested, as reported a few weeks ago.

Thanks, all. All have been added. BTW, is there any tentative scheduled start or completion date of 401 Wisconsin?

Not as of yet. Details for the size of the hotel and number of condominium units are still fuzzy, but the city is taking this one very seriously and I believe the Ghazi company won money from the city to clean up the site a few days ago. Of all the proposed Milwaukee projects, this is one of the more likely to happen.

Yes, the City is taking the 401 Wisconsin proposal seriously. It was the only response to a City-issued request for proposals (the City owns the lot). The City is gave the developer a purchase option on the site, which allows the developer "dibs" on buying the site (sort of a 60-day reservation) that allows the developer some time to hash out details on project fesability, design tweaks, financing, etc. But it's too early for the City to give any approvals yet.

It'll probably be a while before it starts construction, if at all...it's still early in the proposal stage. They'll need to figure out financing, land some hotel/retail tenants, sell a bunch of condo units, submit detailed plans to the City for approval, receive approval, buy the property, and obtain financing...to name a few things on the "to-do" list.

The City (not the developer) was awarded a grant from the EPA that provides some funding for cleaning environmental contamination on the site. That was something the City applied for before this proposal surfaced, in anticipation of any kind of development there.
