What's the time frame for foundation work before we see it rise? Roughly a 8-9 months?

Haha, so RyanRule finally got the axe huh?

Anyway, went by the site today and wow is that place a whirlwind of excitement. If it wasn't freezing outside this time of year I could just chill out and watch those guys go to work. They are still drilling and putting in caissons so while I took a picture it's not really anything new, so not gonna post it

One day in the summer I may just bring a lawn chair and a cooler full of beers, sit at Wacker Drive, and watch the construction carry on.

Actually there would be no place to pee and I'd probably get arrested, so nevermind...

Looks like you are using the link to the gallery http://imgur.com/gallery/BqXc8J6 instead of the direct link to the image http://i.imgur.com/BqXc8J6.jpg. The image is gigantic though (2448 x 3264) and would be way too big for most screens so using the imgur api you can add an 'h' to the end of the filename http://i.imgur.com/BqXc8J6h.jpg to restrict your image to within 1024 x 1024. Like this

When I looked at the construction timetable link it talks about this project including 5 levels below grade. Does anyone know where 'grade' starts at this site? I know its possible to dig out a 'basement' once the foundation is in place, buts that type of construction method is rarely used.

BTW, as someone who for some unknown reasons thinks this phase of the build is often the most interesting, I just want to say a big "thanks" to everyone who is posting photos. Some really remarkable shots. Keep it up! (as the piers go down)

^Should be 5 levels between grade and Upper Wacker Drive. . . nothing technically "underground" aside from the caissons. . .

Looking at these photo's, thanks Harry, it's beyond me to try to talk about this stuff with friends as they completly blow off and give less of a shit about any of this. but those are the same people taking selfies in front of... and admiring these towers. How is this stuff not in history books in high schools? I think this a part of history, culture and everything social about a big city. I'm sorry but these photos and this information is way too epic to just be seen and read on a forum. My rant is over, kids are spoiled these days. Happy Holiday's everybody
