Wow, looks like the second crane base is up now, although it looks kind of small.

Hi all.
Excellent coverage of the construction sites in Calgary. I am surprised there was no piling done. Is the bedrock right there or does a 41 level structure not need piling ? I have been to Calgary many times -( nice to see all the tall buildings going up there by the way ) now with the forums i get to watch the construction as it happens. Was there no piling done for any tall buildings in Calgary ? Thanx and keep up the good work with the updates.

There was shoring, it is behind the wooden planks around the edges of the pit. The only development I know of in Calgary that has been digging without any shoring yet is Riverfront Pointe, but that hasn't progressed in quite a while.

I presume that's another crane base visible in those pictures. I look forward to seeing another crane on this site.

Yeah, I drove by it today, it looked like there were about 10 trucks pouring at once.
