Lake City Way seems pretty useless which is why I've never been to that station besides opening day but my mom worked there for a year. Edmonds and 22nd St Stations are important bus exchanges. I've basically stepped foot on every single station at least once in the past three years otherwise.

and 169 will still be faster during some times of day than the to-be-completed Evergreen Line...
That's true. There really is nothing around there. The Greyhound station used to be across the street until it moved near Ikea and the station itself was SUPPOSED To be built across the freeway as a station in Maillardville around Lougheed & Brunette. It would've been Coquitlam's first station, until Maillardville nimbies quashed it.

The Province wasted no time in going the alternate route parallel to the freeway (crossing at North road), as it was cheaper.

actually i use to use braid all the time coming in from maple Ridge, being the eastern most station is does get a lot of use from people traveling from Poco, Pitt Meadows and maple Ridge, hence why we could never figure out why they don't build a park and ride in that empty lot beside the station.

The city of Burnaby and the local businesses must have thought that Lake City Way was awfully important, as it was not going to be built as part of the initial millennium line project, and then they came up with the money and changed their minds, and it went from a 'maybe never' project to 'soon as possible'.

it seems pretty busy (LCW) lots of people walking to and from it all times of the day - ended up being a good decision

Lake City was supposed to be the site of a big high tech park the NDP envisioned that never really materialized, for various reasons.

as regular monthly pass & U-pass holder for many many years, I thought there only less than 10 stations I've never really used

Gilmore, Holdom , Braid, Sapperton (all "visited" once when M-line open)
Lake City way (never used)
Royal Oak , Edmonds, Scott Road, King George (can't remember whether "visited", but no need to use)

Here is my new list, last week i went to Dim Sum with some friends and we used the Renfrew station (my first time using that station) to get off and after we ate we walked to Nanaimo station (another first for me) to get on. So two station crossed off the list in one trip, hurray!

Expo:

29th Ave
22nd St.
Gateway
King George

Millennium:

Sapperton
Lake City Way
Sperling-Burnaby lake
Holdom
Rupert
VCC-Clark

Cheers

Fun thread!

Maybe I can offer some insight into station use as a new Metro Vancouverite. (Well, hardly. I don't leave UBC nearly enough)

Used:
Broadway
Commercial Drive
Waterfront
Granville
Stadium
Main
Gilmore
Surrey Central

Oddly enough, I have yet to go to Metrotown since I've been here at UBC. Call me crazy.

^^ So crowded these few years. I remember back in the late 1999-2000
it used to be a nice place to shop around. I am not going to tell anyone
to visit that place anymore....no more tourism please!

^ Yeah...stay with your local theatres...perhaps rent a movie from Blockbuster or Rogers and get some pop corn ready right in your living room.

I love Metrotown, makes me feel like i am back in Japan, trains, buses, theaters, arcades, shopping, underground parking, office towers, etc... all built into each other in one spot, anyone who is pro-density and pro cores should think twice before criticizing it. There is a reason why it is so busy (i love the packed busy feeling myself), because it is successful and has been built right in the middle of a relatively dense urban area and has connected itself very appropriately to mass traffic. Also it is multi-leveled, fitting more stores in less space. The theater is busy of course, but thats why you don't see a movie on the opening weekend, i usually go on a week night or a couple weeks after a movie has come out and at times i am one of 3 or 4 people in the theater. Living near Metrotown mall has reduced my need for a car in half, i do a lot of my shopping there, from T&T to HMV, and if i want to see a movie no need to drive, just a 5 minute walk, and it also has many decent restaurants such as the Dim Sum restaurant near skytrain, so it is also good for outings with friends (I enjoy the arcade as well). Not to mention during the cold snowy period walking from one end of the mall to the other did make my walk to skytrain a lot more comfortable. Not everything can be street front retail, if not that would encourage people to drive a lot more to get from one store to the other all the time, having so many amenities in one spot reduces traffic. Also having such a large mall here has yet to kill the street front retail in Metrotown, many places are very busy along Kingsway. Just my rant. Crystal mall is awesme too.
