with an unlimited budget, this would be an amazing thing for the blank side of the radisson. it would be in keeping with (and enhance) the brutalist style, but add tons of visual interest.

If this city were already made entirely of glass, then maybe I'd get it, but even in Vancouver some of it's nicest curtain walled buildings are newer and darker.

Green and sometimes even blue have been somewhat passe in other major cities, whereas a darker look is perhaps coming back in fashion.

Well, I can easily get on board with blue, as Dcondo is very pretty, but green screams mid 90s to me.

Don't give brutalism an inch, somehow, somehow it takes a mile and the radisson apologists show up. Heaven forbid I point out how ugly the Richardson building is... never mind Fairmont.

I modify my earlier post, turns out Sal's and the Radisson are the most divisive topics. We need to find something with more common ground to discuss

I'd rather eat a slab of concrete than a Jeanne's Cake

My Aunt had nothing but Jeanne's rectalingular cakes for the past 40+ yrs. for my cousin's birthday.

My Mom got this mocha icing from a 1960s Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines cake mix box. Toast of the town. Besides the "Cherry Slice" and the "Oh Henry Squares", the Mocha Icing was her signature piece.

So there.

OK, so how about some coffee to go with the Jeanne's cake?

You're making me crave a slice now. See what you did?

It’s the north side. There is never sunlight on it. Im not opposed to glass but why dark glass? why is the spandrel glass dark too? Glass can be very nice if done well. This isn’t done well. It reads as a black hole most of the time. With a clean slate it’s disappoing that’s what it turned out as. They spent a fortune on it. A shame the design decisions were not stronger. So much opportunity with curtain wall. Could have been a very fresh, bright addition to the skyline. It’s not.

Do you think 300 main will end up as dark? The 2 building in the renders are almost the same colour.
