These photos are priceless!! One note:

This picture is Newbury Street between Mass Ave and Hereford looking east. The parking garage still exists. It's Danker and Donahue parking.

Notice the sign on the left, it's Johnson's Paint Shop. Notice the fire hydrant is still in the same location as well. I'm thinking your dad emerged from the present day Hynes MBTA stop when he snapped this picture.

Here's the present day approximate location of your dad's photo.

The church in the distance on the left is The Church of the Covenant on Newbury and Berkeley. The large white building on the right is the backside of 501 Boylston, the New England Mutual Life Insurance building.

I know exactly where this shot was taken. Your dad was atop this building:
1439 Commonwealth Avenue
Brighton, MA 02135

Maybe he lived in the building behind it to gain access to the roof?

And the photo is looking inbound (easterly) towards these buildings:

Yeah, the rooflines match one of the first 3 houses on the south side of the street.

Thanks guys.

Now that I know how to fix them, sometime in the near future I plan on fixing the color of the rest of the red ones. When I do I'll re-post them here, so there will be at least one future thread bumping.
