Through traffic on the overpass still has 2 sets of lights in a DDI. They do not have to wait for the left turns to be completed however.

Exactly see video, not to mention the bridge structure if existing does not need to be modified!

I see that they have opened the ramp at tower road to traffic. That was fairly quick. It seems that the White City overpass has taken a lot longer to get ready. Is it scheduled to be open this summer?

I believe White City overpass is opening in August, and Pilot Butte overpass in October/November.

White city (Hwy 48) and balgonie (Hwy 46) are to open in October (maybe sooner) Pilot butte overpass is to be opening in October 2018.

Here is the official schedule.

http://www.reginabypass.ca/project/project-schedule/

I sincerely hope that Hill Avenue and Rotary Ave into the hub will be open in fall 2018 as well. To finally get trucks off pinky and dewdney.

Info on Bypass from Regain Chamber:
Debunking the myths of the Regina Bypass Project

http://www.reginachamber.com/#

I wish the City and Ministry of Highways would read the quote below. They seem to think that excessive lane closures and traffic disruptions are no big deal and they don't need to make any effort to minimize them.

Quote:
Every time a commercial vehicle slows down or stops on Victoria Avenue, it costs money and the travel time goes up. Eventually those costs are passed on to consumers.

I read that when it first came out and I forgot to post it here. I think it's a mostly a crock of shite.

The traffic model they speak of is ridiculous and not accurate. Nobody says they shouldn't have bypassed Vic East. They're saying it should have gone from ring road south to Number 11 through the NE. There's way more truck traffic coming from Ross Industrial Park and Sherwood Industrial Park than the GTH which the entire south and west route was designed for.

That Chamber is a bunch of sycophants and should be ignored.

And while yes, I do believe that maybe more could be done (ie working at night), the city and province are perfectly aware of disruptions and the cause. It's likely a calculation between the additional costs and less distribution.

I don't think bypassing Vic East was needed. The interchanges at Balgonie, White City, and Pilot Butte should have been paid for by those municipalities.

They have been working at night. On the west side the dump trucks are running 24/7 and pretty much all span work on the overpasses are done at night.

The bypass yes, but he was more talking about the city and highways.

Is the Balgonie Overpass open? I wonder how the people are handling the round-a-bouts.

This might be outside the comprehension level of most Saskabillies.

Silence, the adults are talking. Shouldn't you be in line to pick up your welfare cheque?

I might have phrased it differently than Missinglink, but I don't think they're wrong. Collectively, we've yet to figure out how to merge... roundabouts & (gawd-forbid) diverging diamonds are well beyond the average Saskie's ability, IMHO.

I hope to be proven wrong.

I don't know. In Saskatoon the new modern roundabouts are quite easy and I have yet to see a driver screw up. They aren't hard and if Americans can in the southern US then I don't think it'll be an issue. It is mostly idiot proof. But there will be someone who does and they will learn quickly that was NOT the right way

Hey! I just asked if it was open yet! It was some other ass-clown who made the hillbilly comment.
