Some ethnic/ancestry groups where a majority live in one region (and overrepesentation compared to general population).

Everything is from the 2016 census, except the Jewish population which uses a combined religion/ethnic definition from 2011 NHS.

I have no idea where to get the data but certain groups that would be interesting:

Philippinos: high concentration in Manitoba?

Algerians-Moroccans-Tunisians: high concentration in Quebec

Filipinos are well represented in Manitoba but more live in Ontario and BC.

North African groups added. Since the individual groups are pretty small nationally I just put in the combined group.

without adjustment for proportional representation relative to the overall population, these figures are not very interesting. it stands to reason that in most cases Ontario would take the lion's share of a given ethnic group, and that seems to be the case here except for places where the incoming official language spoken is French (Haitian, North African, etc.).

Yes, percentage of the population would be more interesting than just total numbers, especially if they were broken down by individual CMAs.
I have a feeling that Winnipeg would be tops for the number of Philippinos.

Yeah, in sheer numbers there are more in Toronto and Vancouver areas, but as a percentage of population I'd be surprised if any city surpassed Winnipeg.

As an example, I was at a Tim Horton's in north Winnipeg on Saturday evening... the place was maybe half full but every customer in the place was Filipino except for me and my mom, as well one other white person sitting at another table of otherwise Filipino people. This is a normal sight throughout NW Winnipeg. There is no other ethnic group in Winnipeg with the same sheer presence as Filipino people.

Fillipinos are the no. 3 ethnicity in my city (North Van), behind Caucasians and Iranians, and I don't think we're the metro's "hot spot" for them either.

^ I did not know there were that many Iranians in North Vancouver... I always associate Iranians in Canada with Toronto.

The North Shore of Vancouver is about 10% Iranian I believe.

The Persians are a big deal in Vancouver. When I lived there all the Persians I knew lived in North Van.

I made a new friend last year, some Persian guy from...North Van.

Around Lonsdale they can appear to be the majority. My half-Indian/half-Irish wife works in central Lonsdale and they speak Farsi to her because they assume she's one of them.

I actually chose to live in Lonsdale because I think they're a great, kind culture. The exact opposite of American propaganda. And as a German there's no ethno-suburb for me, besides Deep Cove, sort of, I guess.

North Van may be the most visibly Persian place in Canada (Richmond Hill may have more, but they aren't the most 'visible' immigrant group and the Chinese population is larger).

Here's a 24 hour shopping strip in North York, every store and almost all of the clientele here are Iranian. They call this area Tehranto lol:

West Van (i.e. west of North Van) is also very Persian.

They were the classic wealthy immigrants before Hong Kongers started coming in the 90s.

Pretty much every ethnic group that has a sizable presence in Vancouver has one in Toronto, but there are many groups in Toronto that are barely visible in Van.

Quite different from the situation in the US, where the #2 immigrant hub (Los Angeles) has a lot of groups that are far more represented in sheer numbers than in the NYC area (not just the obvious Mexican presence, but also Armenians, Iranians, Vietnamese etc.)
