Design Commission approved this project yesterday. After the Commission voted to approve it, Kurt Schulz of SERA promised not to appeal the approval to City Council so that the whole thing can be made of Tyvek.

Not bad for infill, though I do wonder if PSU is ever going to put anything on that field across the street from this building. That whole area has come a long way from when I first moved to Portland about 14 years ago.

A demolition permit has been issued for the existing building on site.

If funding can be identified it would eventually house the Honors College. Mostly housing but would also include classroom space specifically for the Honors kids.

Neat building. I like how there's just a little bit of ornamentation to add softness, but its still clean looking.

I like it a lot.

I really like how this block has evolved. The other two new buildings turned out quite nice. Sure, they're not works of art, but they're great in terms of neighborhood infill... the Cameron and whatever the heck the other one is named. 11 Marche? That's a horrible name, but I like the building. I wonder how long it'll be before the field across the street on Market gets developed. Is it a field? Is it a PSU park?

I have to agree, I wouldn't mind seeing much of that end of downtown fill in with quarter block buildings about the size of these buildings. It would make for quite an urban residential district within downtown.

This one is really noticeable when coming out of the Vista tunnels. Much more than I expected.

I agree, the crane caught my eye the other day coming out of the tunnel and I had to drive over to see what it was.

This whole block has seen so much change - mostly for the better. I love that Google Streetview added the ability to look back at views from previous years a while back. If somebody has been away for a few years, this block is almost unrecognizable.
