Urban fauna - Post pictures of wildlife

I was exploring the newly restored wetlands area behind a recent mixed-use residential development in the Vancouver suburb of Burnaby when a heron awkwardly landed in the water a couple of feet in front of me. Startled, I snapped off a single shot that is actually the best animal photograph I've ever taken.

* photo my me (SFUVancouver in SSP/Vancouverite in SSC) on August 13th with a Panasonic Lumix TZ2.

Here are a few wildlife pics I have taken in Boise this summer. Both pics were taken along the river near downtown.

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

There's a couple of red tailed hawks nesting in some woods behind our house. I haven't been able to get a photo of them because they're so fast! Neat to see and hear, though.

Outside the Chicago Spire - Aug 1st.

When I lived on the North side of Chicago, next to a large cemetery, Possums and Raccoons were endemic.
