It's for Ian's unit; he's a car fanatic, especially for vintage vehicles.

He kept the west PH for himself, the one that faces directly into Curv and is arguably the less saleable PH. However, it has the larger roof deck.

Unlike the SPH units, which either occupy the northern or southern half of the tower plate, the PH's were split east west. The one that was sold faces north, east, and south; Ian's faces north, west, and south

It was delivered to the southwest penthouse, then removed and brought back down in the back alley (for storage ?) for a future attempt.
Maybe issues with a/the pedestal on the roof ? or the wrong penthouse ?
Stay tuned for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang part 2.

The tower crane operator sure took a lot of care, like is was a million dollar delivery.

I guess one of the other car might have been Ian's red Jaguar XKE that sometimes got displayed at the Fairmont Pacific Rim entrance?

The car with the orange tarp is the same Porsche, there was only one car delivered yesterday.
The Porsches was up there for a little over 2 hours, then brought back down in the alley way.

Who is Ian?

Also the speeedster looks to be a replica. The black windshield wipers are the giveaway. Real ones are chrome.

All I can think of seeing this is the movie Tower Heist whereAlan Alda had the car in his penthouse made out of melted gold to hide it. Not a bad flick with the likes of Stiller, Murphy and Broderick.

I assume they are talking about Ian Gillespie, the founder of Westbank who are the developers of this project.

I would take a hunch that this is a replica speedster from intermeccanica given it doesn't have collector plates on it, with that said I have seen the XKE (e-type) driving around and if memory serves it didn't have collector plates either, may be driven to from work/office more than is allowed.

I would also suggest a replica because after its installed would it not be extremely difficult to remove if it ever needed to be? I do think this is pretty cool, it is a gorgeous car none the less and a nice piece to have in your home, no different than putting in a piano that never gets used in my opinion (also would be about the same amount of capital tied up sitting there)

There may be more than one looking similar, (The Andrew Cheung example doesn't have a luggage rack on the back), and with only 800 speedsters built over several years nearly 70 years ago, it's much more likely to be a replica. There are quite a few in and around Vancouver, because they were built here, but Intermeccanica is not the only replica builder. The '55' can be found on several other similar cars. (There was one less in 2021). The Butterfly car was driven there.

That post says it was just hoisted up for a photo shoot, then brought back down.

It's weird they didn't cover the plywood with some black fabric or something.

Nice video

I don't think it's just the glass that makes the breezeway area look odd.
There's a lot of "disjuncture" going on in the areas I've boxed in yellow.

The precast has a hard edge to it (the taper created by the windows stops suddenly
and the breezeway/hallway walls don't carry that line across and seem to be a different material (drywall?)
