I just so happened to be up on the hill above Portland street today and snapped this. Sorry the quality isn't all that great, but my zoom is not the best.

See the crane! This project is a bit farther up the hill, so I think it will look signficantly tall on the southern waterfront.

I really like the shot with the construction site in the foreground and the six houses in the background.

Hopefully someday soon we'll see something good happen with the NSP lot.

The Trillium's done pretty well. I am not sure.. was their foundation deeper? It will be a taller building.

I think part of why Dexel is so fast is that they are building apartments and they'll be rented out pretty much as soon as they're done, whereas condos can take a while to sell and that begins before construction.

This part of town has always been so freaking dead. With this new building, the new farmers market, the revitalization of the old NS Power building.... Things are looking up.

This building will add a bit to the canyon effect in this scene:

Waterside Centre would make an even bigger difference. Of course, United Gulf would also have a big impact...

Halifax needs more urban canyons - although the heritage people will disagree.

when i lived there back in the 80s i think ginger's bar was in that spot.
shite, that is an ugly building! but i bet the heritage people approved because it isn't tall. ugh.
i hope those row houses on morris are protected. they are gorgeous.
