I'm certainly glad to have the height but I can only give the designs an 8 at the most. Maybe it'll grow on me more but I don't really like the fenestration seen in some of those dusk shots. Looks kinda of "condo" -ish.
Also what's up with the blank wall the building puts on 10th ave?

Those night time renderings sure look handsome though

I noticed that blank wall as well. I don't believe it will be your typical blank wall or one at all since there is going to be prime retail in there.

AMAZING!

Great height, but such few floors, almost no occupied space in the last 200 or so feet of each tower.. I guess because of the shape of the roof. regardless, they look very awesome

Cheers again!

all towers are pretty tall, the one luxury hotel tower right behind the north tower is 800', at least.
I don't think those other towers a designed yet.

I've looked at that, but there is something more going on there, I don't think it's a blank wall, at least to ground level. It's nice to see the 10th Ave plaza in front of the Coach tower though. There is a lot not shown in these renderings, as far as the surrounding areas are concerned.

For example, the sit directly across the street (north) from the tallest tower is zoned for the largest commercial tower overall in Hudson Yards. Directly north of that is Sherwood's planned giant. Across from that is the 3 Hudson (the Girasole) and below that, directly north of Related's planned mixed use/hotel tower (behind the subway plaza) is the site if Extell's former World Product Center. All of these will be very large towers.

Those terraces are huge. Perfect spot for a restaurant on the north tower. Doesn't look like they plan on anything of the sort if we go by the elevator diagram, though.

And yeah, this is easily my favorite development. Now I just hope it gets built.

Ditto! RW is an excellent poster and his enthusiasm in the NYC threads is always refreshing to me.

On topic: can't believe both towers are slated to begin construction so soon, although I expected it for the south tower. Come this time next year we are going to have some rather enormous cranes rising on the West Side...

Yeah, it seems the scheduling has been pushed up a bit.

With the opening of the 7 line extension getting closer, I expect the sites just to the north to get some activity as well. There's a lot of development waiting to happen on the west side.

That schedule makes alot more sense. I'd wager that it'll get pushed further. Closer to 2020.

A restaurant and an open air observation deck would completely make up for what NYC lost on 9/11.

Pity about the scedule, oh well, it'll start soon enough.

If you look at the cutaway, it says the top office floor for the smaller tower is 53, and 65 for the taller, Plus 2 or 3 mechanical floors

So maybe 56 and 68 stories?

They should make the top floor of the north tower an observatory. It would have amzing views of the city.

The setbacks of the new towers have an open space so people would most certainly get views. Sure it might not be the same height as the old Twin Towers, but it would most certainly be impressive, and if they include a restaurant it would make up for it even though it also won't be as high as the Windows On The World restaurant.
