The first sign in downtown Phoenix’s new Legends Entertainment District went up quietly this past weekend. Judd Norris, the district’s general manager, said the sign was a test-run as part of the district’s efforts that will ramp up before Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game takes place at Chase Field on July 12.

I think the fact this was self-admittedly "one of the best ideas [Cavazos] had all year" says something about the thought leadership and urban planning knowledge we have over in City Hall.

I thought you had seen those, John. I am curious though, are the black bands running in the middle of the two panels (below the top panels)...are they a scroll or speakers or what?

I haven't seen them turned on yet, but I believe they are scrolling billboards. Behold the Legends Entertainment District in all its glory.

Will the boards themselves be LED or just static pictures?

Grrrrrrr. So what are LED signs then? I thought 3 or 4 of these things were to be LED. Does that mean moving picture signs or signs that are posters lit with white LED light?
