Noticed there is new boarding up at Donald and Portage which includes some renders. On those renders it clearly shows the Milestones Bar and Grill as the corner tenant.

@centrepointwpg has just tweeted confirmation that the two restaurant tenants will be Milestones and a new Pizzeria Gusto Group restaurant.

Not really news. Just a confirmation of some pretty solid rumors that were in the WFP a couple of months ago.

I am looking forward to see what kind of restaurant Bobby Mottola has up his sleeve.

Don't really understand the need to incorporate the old façade into the project, sure it was a nice old building but this is getting old already.

Ya you are right, should have just torn it down, mixing facades is silly, kinda like RRC did for an entire block correct, that turned out horrible...............or how about Union Tower with its annex, terrible again.........

Anyway you see where I am going , that piece they save is a very unique building on portage, and will be the show point of the Hotel. No one can replicate something that was made by human hands and not machines.

A lot of mouldings from the mid 1800s onwards, whether they're in terra cotta, stone, or iron, are actually based on templates and mass produced. They were usually mass produced by hand, though. Today we force styrofoam into molds and paint it a colour I like to call "taupebeigeyellow".

There are mouldings on a 98 year old building in Thunder Bay that were made in a factory in Montreal. Monkeys, lions, mermaids, dwarves—all the local fauna is present! It also includes busts. Not of anyone in particular, just of random people, just because. But they were hand made and goddammit there are a lot of them!

They replaced it with a sign for the Glasshouse condos.

There's room for one more tower on the north side of the parkade. It was always dual towers since the residential was added, built it stages. That was my understanding.

That seems like outdated news. I have talked to the architect (which the report says will be hired in 2013). They have designed the complex for one tower. They are going through the structural designs right now. They did their research, the original idea was two towers but market conditions dictated only one.

Those are two great projects for downtown......also the parkade is currently out for subtrade pricing.
