I'm hoping that at least a couple of us are beautiful women.

Hey at the very worst the Standard will flow and we'll all get a chance air our grievances towards Alberta in a public setting.

My own proposal is to set something up at the 'Duke of Kent' on Albert Street sometime after the 15th.

The venue is empty, central location, and the beer is as cheap as they can legally sell it.

Well, at least it would be offline. You see, the Calgarians forumers feel like we are too hostile towards their city. They are keeping a close eye on us Winnipeggers, claiming that we are so jealous of them that we can't talk about anything else. I was served on one of the Calgary threads and "put in my place". I have nothing left to do except cry myself to sleep at night

Anyways, if I can make it, I'll definately be there.

Good, the plan for the evening is to plot Newflyer's 2011 return so he can lead us to glory.

And if that doesn't work out, we can get all liquored up and shit talk Edmonton in a no-holds barred setting.

It doesn't hold very late hours. I think it closes around 8 ish on weekday evenings.

I just through it out there as an idea. From past WUI meetings it doesn't take very many of us to fill a table, so I was looking for a place that had enough space to accomodate whoever wanted to show.

Booze cans are always open late.

Otherwise , there are all kinds of lounges that tend to be quieter. Which one ? Good question.
As for when , it's all the same to me but I figure most of us would like to know a couple weeks prior to the event as would I.
After about three years of watching and posting on this forum it would be nice to finally meet the people involved. It always makes such a difference to put a voice behind a post.

As for the possibility of there being cute women at this meeting ... well, I'm not a woman but I do have this sexy black strapless number that I've been just dying to showcase for the right crowd. Just remember that if you close your eyes it will all be over before you know it.

I'd rather spend a bit more per pint and hang out in a place that I don't loathe, for what its worth. We've done the Kings Head before, could do that again. Or, the Regal Beagle if you want a quieter pub setting.

Or, The Yellow Dog (behind the Walker) for a nice quiet cozy pub.

Hmmm???

I rather enjoy the Yellow Dog. Small, nice owner/bartender, good vibe. Exactly the kind of place we need more of in this town. I am most happy to support him.

Ok, we'll put the choice of pubs to a poll at a later date. In the meanwhile, does anybody want to propose a date? From past experience we've had good turn outs on Wednesday / Thursday evenings.

Do people have a preference for the beginning or end of a week?
