Does anyone know exactly how close they are together?

Most of the original alleys in downtown are listed as being 20 feet wide on the old Waller maps. The thing with Green Water is those original alleys would have been built over by the water treatment plant, so I don't think the ones we're seeing are quite historically the same as what's in the rest of downtown. Either way, the alley separating 500 West 2nd here and Ballet Austin seems to be pretty close to 20 feet judging from the lengths of some of the cars you can see in his photo. The distance separating Third+Shoal and Austin Proper, though, is considerably less. I would guess they're between 10 and 15 feet apart. Even the pool on 360's amenity deck looks to be more than twice as wide as that alley is. Anyone know how wide that pool is?

Those certainly are pretty tight together...not that I'm complaining. I think this level of density is good in this case.

The treatment plant did not build over the alley. There is 20 feet between the two properties. There is a little bit of perspective at play in the photo (the camera is not directly over the alley).

You're right. I'd forgotten the exact layout of the treatment plant. I guess I should have checked Google Earth first. I'm really curious to see what the view will look like through the alley once they're complete.

The site plan for Third + Shoal shows the Alley to be 20' wide. The building is shown to be right against the property line at the alley.

Sure would be a good action movie, have one person jump from one building to the next.

But it'd be more impressive with buildings over 400 feet, amiright?

Great shot!

Still see a tiny bit of evidence that we have a tower called Frost...

Agreed! You also captured the elusive 500 W 2nd Airstream trailer in one of your photos. Thanks for posting.
