Austin Forum Meet

It's that time of the year again. Great walking weather! I haven't been around much this past year on the forum so it would be great to get out again and see what's going on around town. Catching up on some of the cool things going up!

Last year a good sized group of us were able to meet up and even got a fantastic tour of the Austonian!

Anyone interest? How about meeting up next weekend on Saturday April 13th @ 10am?

Who's game?

I'm totally up for it. I wonder if MichaelB would still be up for giving us a rooftop tour of the Cambridge Tower. Michael? Pretty please!

Oh man, I just remembered I can't make it that weekend. I already had something I had to do that weekend. I totally forgot.

Yeah, that would probably work for me. Maybe the week after that? That would be the 20th.

Hey Kev. I'll have to pass on this one! A: we are still in construction hell....
and B: I'm still recovering with a broken leg.... ooops.
But certainly in the furture I'll be happy to host.

^That's cool. Maybe in October when it's not so hot we could have another forum meet? October is usually our nicest month in Austin.

The other thing is, I was thinking if by some chance we do end up going up in one of the buildings, May is usually horrible for visibility because of the agricultural fires in Mexico. So it would be best to do it before then.

So I’ve never participated in a forum meet and was just thinking this is a good idea that’s long overdue. I know that Covid is an ongoing thing but with about half of Austin being vaccinated/more comfortable would you all be open to it?

100% I've been on a number of these over the years. My favorite is when, at the end of a day of walking/shooting pics/talking we were all hungry and went into a restaurant only to have Sandra Bullock turn to us and say, “Please, no photos”. We promptly left

It's good to propose a date & time early because agreeing on the date later has typically been the achilles' heal of successful forum meetups.
