Queen Elizabeth Park (and views from there!) + Olympic curling venue construction

Took these photos today, which turned out to be a gorgeous day!

Spring is coming....?

Perhaps it is:

Slowly but surely:

...and someone said QE park had no views

The new park(ing) at the top:

Curling Venue

It would be cool if they built like a tower or cleared a nice view point from up there. It seems like a waste not to have something like that.

For some reason, the cherry trees on the West Side bloom about 2-3 weeks earlier than the ones on the East Side - must be different variety of tree - kinda funny though - we wouldnt want the east side to have beautiful pink blossoms before the west side can enjoy them

Great pics. I haven't been to Queen Elizabeth Park in forever. They could definitely do with a nice observation tower there methinks. Too bad the idea got shot down.

Today was a beautiful day wasn't it... and beautiful pictures btw. Both you and SFUVancouver are amazing photographers (part-time photographers I'm guessing =P)

Btw, how do you create that effect in your second photo?

Yeah it was a great day. Too bad I spent all day indoors working on something
I am flattered, as I consider myself a pretty mediocre photographer. Basically, I take pictures of everything and select a few to post...most of the others are horrible.

Use the macro mode on your camera, and get it to focus on whatever you want. Most cameras should do it for you automatically...you can change to aperture to get more or less blur in the back.

Well, it's not quite spring yet, so no pretty flower pictures. However, since it is cold, it was a good time for some scenery shots.

All of these were taken by me:

The small conservatory and aviary is actually quite nice from inside (and very lush!). Photos from yesterday. Some more photos in here.

Quick question Klazu, did your lens or viewfinder fog up when shooting at the Conservatory?.
And how long were your in there.
Thanks
