Post from 2017, so there will also be an Onni project to the north.

Just realized that Mattropolis' pics are from land clearing in 2018.
The 2 cranes in your twitter pic are for the Polygon project (in line with the curved silver roof buiding)

Quote:
Sophora is a genus of about 45 species of small trees and shrubs in the pea family Fabaceae. The species are native to southern Asia, Australasia, various Pacific islands, western South America, the western United States,[4] Florida[5] and Puerto Rico. The generic name is derived from sophera, an Arabic name for a pea-flowered tree.[6]

The genus formerly had a broader interpretation including many other species now treated in other genera, notably Styphnolobium (pagoda tree genus), which differs in lacking nitrogen fixing bacteria (rhizobia) on the roots, and Dermatophyllum (the mescalbeans). Styphnolobium has galactomannans as seed polysaccharide reserve, in contrast Sophora contains arabinogalactans, and Dermatophyllum amylose.

The New Zealand Sophora species are known as kōwhai or kowhai.[7]

The seeds of species such as Sophora affinis and Sophora chrysophylla are reported to be poisonous.[8]

Shame to have them log that patch if greenery but it's a super central location. There is just so much suburban mall space to rezone to residential towers.

Catching up on images.

This was the view in January 2020. After the site clearing the site was dormant for about one year. At some point they drilled. I assume it was de-watering.

They were finished digging at this point and started to build forms for the lowest parking level.

(Edit, also the first of two cranes)

This was an exciting day. I've never seen 5 concrete pumpers and so many concrete trucks at once.
