The white on the corners of the building are reflecting the light. That is an extremely small turnout for the fireworks.

The first one seems like it's actually lit up to me. The second one looks like reflection of the fireworks. I agree, it'd look great if they did that.

I think you guys are right. It is a reflection. Both images seem to show the same color of light on the building as what the fireworks are.

And I noticed that also. The crowd seems very small. It wasn't really all that cold either. There didn't seem to be many people out that night. We drove back from my sister's house in Del Valle and there were almost no cars on the roads.

They started leasing for March move ins. Rents range from about $1,800 to $8,600.

Perhaps because it's a no alcohol event? All the sober people were busy driving uber instead

I bet the same number of people are on the lawn for the Long Center hill, That's where I would sit, not down at front getting blasted by the stage.

Great day to take photos. The sign for the office portion of this building is up. It appears like it will house a company called "Galvanize"

It's a co-working space:

Alright so I'm looking at the layout for the street grid they're extending and it looks like southbound Nueces to Cesar Chavez will be right turn only, controlled with a stop sign, but that concerns me. I honestly feel it should be a stoplight because I grew up near a similar intersection in town and I'd say about 70% of people tried to turn left anyway, I'm unsure if left turns from Cesar Chavez will be allowed. If they are, traffic upon completion of Nueces will be interesting. If not, people will make them illegally.

Furthermore it's close to bus stops and I honestly don't trust pedestrians to walk to San Antonio Street to cross.

I'm hoping this is a stop gap measure so they can open the road sooner rather than the permanent plan.

The 500 block of 2nd St. and the 100 block of Nueces opened to pedestrians this week. I took all the pictures I was able to before the rain stopped me:

Cool. Man, it's like a whole section of a city just magically materialized. New buildings (including a new central library), new streets and a new bridge. Except for 360 Condos and the Seaholm chimneys, there's really nothing there to tell you that's Austin. And even 360 didn't exist before 2007. And Austin Music Hall. I forget what year it was they rebuilt it. The crazy thing is that even it is planned to be demolished for another tower.

Yeah, it's crazy to think that they're not even done with that area yet!

Great photo, drummer. I still think they're gonna paint it a bone white over time...that yellow seems too generic

Those angled stop signs go well with the bridge too...

I would love to take credit, I really would ...but the credit is due to Flatiron.

I still lean toward another color being better, but the yellow doesn't seem as awful as it did before (to me at least).

Haha, nice. The arches and angled stop signs will really mess with folks walking home from the bars...start leaning sideways until the inevitable fall.
