At least not during the work hours when I would be there. I can only assume you're working on a different metric that makes the area maybe a nice place to actually live.
I was thinking about the evenings, after a game, DePaul students from the north side wandering around...

This area seems to have gotten a lot quieter now that Ickes is gone. Still large amounts of public housing south of the Stevenson, but the expressway tends to form a mental barrier...

That almost looks like a Photoshop, but then I saw the reflection of the arena roof in the Marriott glass.

I'm still bummed that the skylights were deleted from Pelli's design for the roof, but at least this is cool! Hopefully it doesn't fade too quickly.

This roof is tailor made for blimp or helicopter shots during sports coverage. I guess some people might see it from planes approaching ORD or MDW, but those are usually pretty high up when passing over downtown.

Agree about the skylights being an opportunity lost but still a beautiful finish from the ground up!
Would it look too tacky to light up the roof at nite with some flood lights from on top of the Marriott?

The roof has the Chicago flag. I love it

It keeps the building from blowing over.
