That is good. Central boulevard needs some active storefronts to liven up the area...Nothing used to face it (just backs of big-box stores) and dentist/health clinics with shaded/blocked off windows...The only other active spot is the good old Bread Garden with its patio. This will definitely help along with a nicer looking Metrotown station

I would think it is fairly commons, as people working around city planning are likely also interested in discussing and reading about it (under an alias). It is still strange how the vocal outcry against spandrel had been falling to deaf ears for years now... You would think someone would take a hint.

When you looked was it only the stucco around / above the entrance? When I looked at it yesterday the area around the hotel room windows was also grey. That makes the brick look really out of place, so I suspect they'll do something about it to make it fit in.

All the storefronts along Beresford will help too. I wonder if they'll open up the old Target location on Central - that was a pretty big closed off wall too.

There's some hope, even if they haven't moved to spandrel yet.

We had an Assistant Director who believed that all buildings should be essentially the same colour, so as to create a more uniform appearance and not compete with each other. He has retired. As a result, we're starting to see more colour in our newer buildings, though not yet on a scale that would get us included in this slide show.

I think there is an entrance (now closed off) and some windows. I believe that was from when it use to be a Woodwards store. Pre-target and pre-Zellers.

Is the Drone demo area in doors, or does it permit you to look into the windows of all those high rises. Interesting "window shopping".

A friend said that the Bed Bath & Beyond at Station Square carries Cost Plus Imports furniture (which BBB acquired in 2012)

I peeked into the Station Square Best Buy today. They still have some gear (scaffolding and such) in the store, as well as empty racks. Depending on how much work they have left to do and how quickly they move stock in, they might be ready to open on Friday.

Chapters Starbucks are company-operated, not licensed.

So three Starbucks (used to be 4 with Target)

Two Timmys

Two A&Ws

Two Lids

Two Sunglass huts

and back in the day there used to be two HMVs..

Still surprised there is only one McDonalds.
