this reservoir is actually the upper one closer to 60th & hawthorne (which, granted, is a short walk from 60 & division). there are some amazing sunsets to be seen from these reservoirs, including another one last night. i don't fool around much with HDR, but i tried my hand at a few last night that i may post later.

also stormking, funny that you went portland to philly, as i went philly to portland. if you like beer (and i assume you do since you came from portland), be sure to try the storm king stout. like i said, victory is one of my favorite breweries anywhere. i'm not wild about imperial stouts, but theirs is good. their prima pils, though, is the best pilsner in the entire world. the philly suburbs do it better than even the bavarians who taught them how.

bronco, the rain here isn't quite as bad as its reputation would suggest. well, it is -- but it's quick and usually harmless. i've heard thunder exactly once in the year and half i've been in the PNW, and besides, it wouldn't be so green here if it wasn't for all the gray.

the rain isn't really all that bad - it's usually so light that you don't need an umbrella. Besides, people look cuddly and cute in hoodies.

PS: on an unrelated note, I may be coming thru PDX on my way back to Seattle. I fly to Oakland from Toluca (Mexico City) on the 26th! Adios Mexico!

yeh, it's been a while. Looking closer, I saw the First Interstate tower (still FI?) near the center and the plane of the streets, so I forgot about that res.

About the beer being better than the Bavarian's. Right. Beer's been brewed forever in Phila(Brewerytown is an obvious give-away [NW of Girard College]), then later on, I guess the traditions moved out to the burbs.
I'm not orig. from Portland. Almost all of my relatives are from the NE, incl. Philly.
