Exclamation Heads-Up if You Have Telus-TV HD

CFCN-HD is finally available as channel 609, folks.

Tonight, I celebrate. Come Monday, I start pestering them for the other Calgary channels.

^^^ Better start nagging 'em, Furry--looks like they only pick up Toronto and Vancouver HD feeds.

CURRENTLY but I'd think that's in part because that was the only HD available- I'll be pestering for sure. A mountain time time-shift for high def would seem to be great for folks in EST.

Other than news (which doesn't much benefit from HD anyway)... what's the big whoop about "local" content?

Do you guys all have HD service without a PVR, so scheduling actually matters? For shame!

I dunno- if Toronto and Vancouver and fucking SPOKANE have high-def channels then so should we. Local news is not only not HD but it's actually analog and looks like absolute shit. And news does benefit from HD.

Don't get me wrong, I've been waiting several years for SD channels to disappear in general. There's just a lot more that I'd rather see in HD first before news. Like 95% of the Discovery and National Geographic Channels, for starters.

^^^ Camilla di Guiseppi on the late news isn't so hard to look at, either, but what does drive me to distraction when she's on teleprompter duty is that she is incapable of properly pronouncing "the" before any word starting with a vowel. Hearing things like "thuh end" and "thuh acting mayor" and "thuh underpass" makes me wonder if our J-schools dropped elocution from the curriculum.

I was thinking the complete opposite. Mind you next to Darrel Janz, Susan Boyle would look hot.
