That's a long ways out, but it'll be here before we know it thanks Wong.
8 months for a tower that size to start is not a long ways out homie. We just heard about this new proposal this summer. If you ask me, they're getting on it quick.

Yea we had the same thing for Tabor Center and 2 times for this building and for 1401 Lawrence or whatever just to name a few. You know it is going to happen when there is movement on the site. Until then with our track record the chance is small.

The excavation and shoring permit has all the approvals already. I wonder if there are environmental issues to clean up before vertical construction can start?

they are probably still drawing the building...and getting approvals from the city will take 6-9 months for something like this...may sounds pretty pretty great.

This will be a real treat watching this development rise in our city. Hopefully a sign of good things to come.

Do we have any ground-floor renderings/details for this building yet? Should I assume the whole street face will be a giant corporate-style office lobby? For a building this size, that still will generate quite a bit of pedestrian activity, and if the glazing looks good it will be a positive addition no matter what. It would be really great to get some more retail in here though too.

From Hines:

Quote:
1144 Fifteenth Street will be a 640,429-square-foot, Class A office tower in Denver, located between Arapahoe and Lawrence Streets.

Designed by Pickard Chilton, the stunning, 40-story structure will feature 25,000-square-foot, highly efficient floor plates, 10-foot ceilings on typical floors, floor-to-ceiling glass and the best parking ratio of any high-rise Class A office building downtown. In-building amenities include: sweeping views of the Front Range; a state-of-the-art, 5,000-square-foot fitness facility; an auto detailing service in the parking garage; and ground floor retail.

Construction on the building will commence in May 2015 and will be complete in December 2017.

No, but a major downtown building on 15th across from Skyline Park should. We're not talking about 21st and Curtis here.

When I'm in the US, I don't go to the office towers to go looking for retail. If I'm walking by I might stop for a smoothie or a coffee at most. If it had a vertical mall in it, that's another story. That's not gonna happen in Denver for a long long time.
