Same. I'd have a lane of Pembina in each direction meet Corydon at a regular-old right angle to provide access from local streets to Pembina. This plan would not only move the high-speed through traffic away from pedestrians, making confusion corner habitable, but it would also free up a lot of land for redevelopment, as half of Pembina and the Mcmillan curve in front of the community centre could both be eliminated.
As for community opposition to that Roslyn project, I believe it's based on the building levelling two historical mansions on Roslyn. The density is fine.
As for taller buildings in Osborne, though, is it true that Evergreen Place has two more pads for more towers? The neighborhood is filling up with low-rise density, and once the supply of land for those is tapped there will be nowhere to go but up. I nominate the Safeway parking lot for a couple of towers, and Darkzone once they tunnel Pembina.
