Austin doesn't have too many of them. We have at least three that I can think of in downtown. One at the Lavaca Plaza (office building) connecting to its garage, and one connecting Brackenridge Hospital to its garage. There's another one connecting the Hilton Garden Inn to a building next door which used to be an office building. That office building is now a condo building. The skywalk actually crosses Waller Creek which flows between the two buildings. There are a few other hospitals outside of downtown that have them too. Other than that, we don't have many. I doubt we have more than 8 skywalks citywide and they're all pretty plain and simple.

Downtown Los Angeles has quite a number of them, mainly near the Westin Bonaventure Hotel across Flower St., and also several in and near Bunker Hill and California Plaza...

Many, many hospital complexes have skywalks or skybridges, they're actually insanely common there. Same for some universities as well.

The problem with huge systems of skywalks is simple, though. They keep pedestrians OFF the street, thus ensuing that they're more or less devoid of people, even during the day. Some cities they make perfect sense due to weather, ie: Minneapolis, Calgary, however.

A few years ago a parade and one of our skybridges clashed....the skybridge won.

I went and attempted to count ours downtown. 4 existing, 1 proposed. 1 pedestrain bridge (ie not building to building), and 1 proposed. Could possibly be more, for instance hospitals. Of course, we aren't exactly the biggest city.

BTW, that same skybridge that Babaar is stuck under was used in the cheap, crappy SyFy movie, Megafault, that they filmed here last spring. It's shown in this youtube clip at 0:08 and again, collapsing, at 0:48.

So it is! It has to be said, one puny skybridge collapsing doesn't really live up to the promise 'Millions Will Die'.

Here's another double skywalk from Philadelphia, this time at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue connecting to the parking garage on Broad Street.

Hunter College in New York City. Consists of 3 Skybridges between 3 buildings, 2 on the 3rd floor connecting the East and West building as well as the West and North buildings, and one on the 7th floor connecting the East and West buildings.
