Notice how I typed "cladding" as opposed to CLADDING!!!!

I'm already upset. I felt like I was looking at the facade of a movie set.

Can you imagine how a tower like that would energize Michigan Ave? It would be incredible.

They really need to create a new color for this. How about "River North Precast Beige."

It's all I see out the window. Blocks after blocks of beige and maybe the occasional blue glass building.

^Looks like a back lot, movie set faux facade. The green lintels also look to be precast...I'm not use to seeing precast in that deeper color.

I love the beige splashes on the the lintels. Also check out those lighter-toned squares covering the attachments. This is Grade-A bullshockey.

Wow! That would indeed have been a fine addition to Michigan Avenue. Even on Michigan Ave, I don't think every building needs to be stunning, but some need to be and it's a shame with a high-end one meant to give the monied class a place to crash don't take on a bolder vision.

In most city's this building would make a nice addition to the skyline but with a skyline the size of Chicago's, this building is little more than infill.

^ It's little more than infill because it's little more than a piece of shit.

Okay, I agree with you all. This thing is going to be lame. I've defended this tower long enough. The straw that broke the camel's back is the tower planned in Bangkok.

Bangkok gets that, and we're getting this? That's just too insulting for even me, a guy with the architectural IQ of a doorknob, to handle...

Ok people...we know by now that any building that is precast and beige that is built in chicago is gonna look like crap... so we might as well just accept it... It will never look art deco without having true art deco materials ..ateast not for our very selective taste on this forum

Wow, that is shitty. My main issue is that the center bay is somehow occupied by two windows when it should be three windows, like the upper reaches of 500 Fifth Ave. It doesn't even reflect anything meaningful in the floorplans - there's a bathroom partition falling there in the middle, but they could just as easily shift the partition 18 inches for a window. Pure laziness.

It's not the look of precast, it's the way it was designed. I do believe that precast can come pretty close to the look of Art Deco, Indiana limestone. Lagrange just totally fails at designing the facades.

It looks like a building built from Lego blocks.
