Today we are 5 years, 11 months into this project. And we are still a hole in the ground.

Easily another 2 years to Occupancy.

That means 8 years to occupancy - that's unreal. For what, 20 somewhat floors?

In fairness, there was a complicated land swap involved that triggered a lawsuit, the new Jubilee House had to go through all of its development approvals and be built first so that residents could be moved, and then the old Jubliee House had to be demolished before excavation could proceed, but your core point is well taken. The majority of a decade from beginning to end is far too long for a modest residential development in the downtown core.

It's not really clear what you're saying. If you're suggesting that it was supposed to be completed in 2019, then clearly it's behind schedule. If you're suggesting it will be completed in 2019, that's very obviously not going to be the case - even with an experienced builder constructing it. It's not out of the ground yet; it has 36 storeys; and the floorplates are quite a bit bigger than we generally see in Vancouver, so it might be a little slower to construct.

sorry, i mean, based on the information disclosed by the developer, the project would complete in 2019. I know it is impossible to completion by this year, even they construct 7/24

They ended up needing to dig a bit deeper too based off some changes to the height of the parkade.

Lots of pain for the developer on this site, but they'll pull off a great project once all is said and done.
