The oldest kite festival in the US and some spanking new skyscrapers

Austin's Zilker Park kite festival is the oldest kite festival in the US. It was started in 1929 by the Exchange Club to encourage creativity in children. The festival has been held at Austin's main park, Zilker Park, since 1936. It has grown into one of the largest kite festivals in the US with 20,000 people in attendance every year.




































































Next I went up to a nearby parking garage to take in the view from there.

































Then I rode over to the Zilker Clubhouse for another view over the park and skyline.
























And lastly, I rode over to Butler Park before heading home.
