I like 1200 Madison. Boring, but ground-level retail!!

Did anyone else see O8 last night? The crown was brightly lit and was changing colors...it looked great! Hopefully they'll keep doing that....

Hello? Is anyone there?? O8? Seattle posters are less interactive than the idaho posters i used to deal with. Typical of the PNW

Anyway, glad to see the Amazon HQ moving along with the Gates Foundation HQ. Fantastic.

I didn't see the O8 lightshow but I hope it looks good. O8 was really disappointing. The renderings made it look like it was going to be cool at night with a lit crown and the lit olives at the base but it looks like a dark glass box instead of a shiny bright skyscraper.

Anyways, Seattle forumers are slow butts. Portland has more activity even though there's less projects going on down there. But here are some updates.

Escala looks good! I like the details at the base. They don't really look overdone but they still look a little classy.

The crown of O8 is now permanently on. It cycles through a wide spectrum and looks amazing.

I'm pretty impressed with Escala, though wish it was a bit taller. My friend in Portland sent me pictures of the new ZGF headquarters down there complete with wind turbines on top to aid in power generation. Hello, Seattle? Why aren't we on board with such designs? Ugh

Great footage by the way mseattle! Thanks for posting that!

FUCK! Sorry for the large pictures. I forgot to make them 800x600. Well, you'll get more details I guess.

Escala

Skyline at First Hill

Virginia Mason Boren Expansion

Aspira Wow, I forgot that Aspira means Aspire and Breathe in Spanish.

BMW Dealership. I love it. I wish more dealerships looked like this and were so close to downtown. Except for the Honda dealership on Boren. I HATE that place, they park their cars on the street and you can never turn plus they cut from lot-to-lot. It's annoying!

Thanks for the video compliments. Thanks to Olive 8 for doing the light show. I thought they were only doing it on the weekends but I've seen it going on week nights too. Hopefully it inspires others to do something interesting with their buildings.

I was walking down 2nd today and noticed the Needle Exchange at 2nd & Pike is closed. According to the sign in the window a Doc Martens store will be opening soon. Quite a change.

The construction elevator is coming down at 1918 8th (around 1/2 - 3/4 of it has been removed as of this morning).

Any updates on the Emerald City Tower or the 5th and Madison tower? I saw the signs up before I left Seattle a couple weeks ago.
