Occupy Houston

Not much of a turn out but then again...this is Houston; we're half-assed at everything.

lol. but damn, i'd always read about the great depression and the long lines of unemployed and be glad i wasn't seeing that in my lifetime here in the USA.

but now we're starting to see that...even in Houston. and even here in Disgusta.

there is supposed to be a festival there this weekend. Wonder how that is going to go down with these folks occupying the grounds?

In Boston, they canceled this weekend's food truck festival at Dewey Square (site of Occupy Boston). Doesn't seem right to me.

What is light bulb man representing?

I agree. This is not right. Protesting, when done in a lawful manner, is a freedom we have. However it should not be used as a tool of disruption.

The protesters have a right to camp/ organize there (contractual agreement between the city and the family who donated the land) but I think plans for this upcoming festival was made in advance. I'm pretty sure they'll be back Monday. Not sure what the lightbulb guy's story was but he was a bit...off.

@ Joe: yeah, its a great lens. good suggestion, btw.

This "movement" has spread over the world, even in Sweden there have been "occupy" events. I think it is good that they demonstrate against greed, and that a minority have a so large amount of money without using it to help the poor.
It is strange that the police kicked them out!

They were back the next day parading around the festival in silent protest.

Wouldn't be a proper hippie gathering without some idiot and his hippie sticks.
