For some reason this thread had escaped my notice until now. These are great. The street photographs are interesting, the people look a lot like those in classic "blue state" America, or Canada. I guess that isn't surprising.

From last night, December 30th. Dress rehearsal and lighting test for New Years Eve.

People are already camping out at some locations on the harbour to ensure they get the best views for the New Years fireworks. I'm not quite that crazy.

I plan on getting a spot at about 9am on the 31st.

2013 was the Opera House's 40th birthday, and it featured for the first time as part of the fireworks show.

Sydney Festival is now on. Which is a music and art festival held during mid-january.

The giant duck is back. This time in Parramatta.

I often get the feeling that Melbourne is a lot cooler of a city than Sydney is, but this thread is definitely evidence that Sydney can hold its own in the coolness category.
