This building is actually every bit as visible on the skyline from NJ (think Lincoln Tunnel Helix) as One57. I look forward to the giant glowing cube on top.

And yes, I care more about the tower rising too.
I'm glad you posted that info. It was something new for me to learn. I would no way call Letterman a has been.
But, back to the topic on thread, this is a great looking tower. Will look forward to seeing the finished item.

Deserves to be on top of this page.
I always liked this building, even when he was just a "plan". Now seeing it almost done, my expectations were confirmed.

Latest photos of 1715 Broadway. The scale is lost because the neighborhood is so built up, but it's enormous. A few floors left till topping-out, but it's getting close.

Nice shot, Carlos. I like the fact that NYC has a lot of skinny towers going up. Seems like the first era like this since the 20's/30's.

Hell's kitchen is going to look awesome once you see 1,000' footers on the edges of it,surrounding it like a wall of concrete and steel.

So far it is far superior to its rendering. I hope it continues this way.

Really Tall Midtown Hotel Tops Out...

1715 Broadway, "topped out yesterday, with all kinds of celebratory concrete-pouring and flag hoisting and folding."

Maybe all that gobbledeegook on top will be made of steel or another metal, not concrete, thus no more concrete to pour.

^ Nice pic.

Btw there's no way this one's topped out, I mean the upper portion is missing, at least. Also, what's up with those "pre - top out" ceremonies lately? One57, 4WTC etc being some examples...

That is a really good looking tower!

This should have been a supertall. It deserves to stand out amongst its peers...

By the way, someone mentioned a glowing top.

Is this supposed to have some sort of special lighting on the top of the tower? If so, have they mentioned or shown what it could look like?

Sorry if this has already been answered/discussed.

That's Hell's Kitchen, a famous and well-preserved historical district full of beautiful pre-war lowrise buildings. Hopefully no skyscrapers are ever built there - it's one of the last neighborhoods of its kind in Midtown.

I think it is the last. The least that can be done to give the illusion that Midtown reaches from the East River to the Hudson is to surround Hell's Kitchen with quality highrises. West Side development should be able to do that.
