That's going to be 220 floors high?

It looks so thin, didn't realize they were already this far along... or is this a different building?

That's Broad's J97 Tower. It only 97 floors, and basically a smaller version of Sky City. Updates for it probably shouldn't be posted in this thread though because it's a completely different building.

China world tallest building

I have read and I have understand that this building would be finished in seven months but I actually dont know if is not updated but still on hold if they want to finished in 2014 they will need to have began on may minimum and change the status to under construction.
however a lot of people are posting that is complety impossible to finish this building in seven months but it is possible they have pre-fabric floors so they actually dont have to build they only need to conected and I know that this form of construccion is actually used and have worked perfectly to build a tower of 12 floors I havent know about a taller building make by this form and Im not sure if is going to work in a 202 floor building but I belive in this proyected and Im hoping they finished for this year.

I'm curious as to where J97 is at these days. It was rising quickly back in Feb/March. It must be close to being topped out by now.

According 2 a You Tube vid I saw the J97 became the J57. Construction was stopped at 57 floors because of air traffic? From what I c there is no airport near the sight. They probably discovered another problem during construction to stop at the 57th floor.

The foundations of what was planned to be the world’s tallest building are being used as fish farm in China two years after the project stalled, according to a Xiaoxiang Chen Bao newspaper report.

Construction of the 838-metre tall “Sky City” in Changsha started in July 2013 when billionaire Zhang Yue, the president of Broad Group, arrived in a helicopter for the ground-breaking ceremony.

Zhang had expected the 9-billion yuan (HK$11.3 billion) project to be completed in nine months, using prefabricated building modules, and replace the Burj Khalifa in Dubai as the world’s tallest building.

But work stalled after concerns from regulators over the safety of the skyscraper and its environmental impact and funding.

Villagers nearby have started to raise fish in its 2.6-hectare water-filled foundations, the Xiaoxiang Chen Bao reported.

One villager started to raise fish in March and has invested over 20,000 yuan in his business. “I raise fish on the construction site. It is not in secret, neither have I ever been stopped,” he was quoted as saying.

On the banks of the pit, some villagers grow watermelons.

Since you pointed out some of ragwar's grammatical errors, allow me to point out yours:

- you left out the hyphen in "run-on"
- you misspelled "sentence" as "sentense", and
- you forgot to end your "sentence" with a period

In the future, don't make fun of others and then turn around and make the same mistake.

Yes, could be. It's illegal. They aren't allowed to have a fish farm.

Hunan drops ambition on world’s tallest building amid protests

Quote:
Central China’s Hunan province finally announced a halt on its ambitious plan to build the world’s tallest tower within one part of its rare wetland area.

The Daze Lake wetland is the location where the world’s next tallest tower was originally scheduled to be built. This wetland is now listed as one of the 20 waters to be permanently protected and will follow non-construction zone policies. The news site thepaper.cn reported Wednesday, citing a development blueprint issued on a government website with information related to Hunan’s Xiangjiang New Area.

The blueprint lays out the district’s development from 2016 to 2025, and the no-construction zone will cover a total area of 199.5 square kilometers.

After safety and regulatory issues stalled the project just days after construction had started, the Chinese province of Hunan has ditched plans to build the world's tallest tower in Changsha. Eh, the giant tower in a forest concept never made any sense anyway.
