CALGARY | Live on the Park | FT | 18 FLOORS

This building has been built to grade but was halted due to a market slowdown. Since then, the original design has been changed, and now with the market picking back up again, word has it that construction is set to commence soon.

I really like the top of this building. I wish more buildings were built with nice terraces like that.

Does anyone have a rendering of the original design?

As it stands now. Word is that this site is going to start up again on Nov 15th. which would be nice...although if I had a dime for every time a site was supposed to start construction on a certain date and didn't I'd be a billionaire.

There's also some renderings in this original thread from way back.

I walked past this site a week or so ago, and there were a few construction types at site. I hope this is a sign it's moving forward soon.

Thumbs up Construction Start Up

We read an online article last weekend from the Calgary Herald that construction is expected to start at the end of January with 48% sold so far. The Herald article is the most encouraged we have been for a start date so far. However, we will believe it when we see it as we have been told a number of different start ups. First it was Aug, then Sept, then an actual date of Nov. 15th. Then lastly, sometime in January. Once completed, this should be an excellant addition to the downtown skyline.

It's a nice mid-rise project, and hopefully we see this get going soon. Yeah...start dates are cheap lol!

Great terraces, but the design is certainly not very elegant.

Well it is almost the end of January and since this is the fourth start date that is 40¢ for Surrealplaces! I have my doubts as I go past the site everyday to and from work. There is a lot of snow build up on the site and nothing happening.

No building permit issued as yet

I wonder how many more times I will see a start date come and go with this one. I have checked the City of Calgary Interactive Maps and it shows the development permit, but no building permit has been issued for this site as yet. Does anyone know what a typical time frame would be to start contruction once a building permit is actually issued?

A while back someone in the Calgary construction thread said that they would be starting at the end of this week. We'll see, maybe Surreal will 10 cents richer.

The thing that this site has going for it, is the u/g already built. It's easy to just arrive one day and get things going, next thing you know it's rising into the sky.

I might be losing out on another dime!
