Nice shots!
I'm intrigued by the New Westminster shots.

Well, i could not resist, here are some more pictures of my home and native land

I will start with a couple from New Westminster. Note the palm trees Blake

And here is a more gritty back alley of New West. New West is often used as a set for "New York" in many tv shows and movies, on of my favorite New Westminster movies is "Rumble in the Bronx"

New Woodwards Tower downtown Van

The sea wall in Coal Harbour

The Metro-town skyline in Burnaby (a suburb of Vancouver) which has a larger skyline than downtown Phoenix!

A new casino in Burnaby plus the #1 freeway

I already posted this on another forum, but i think it belongs here too. Downtown at night with the Lions Gate Bridge (Lions Gate Studios is named after this bridge and is based in North Vancouver)

Downtown Van

I love taking pictures so i will continue to add more as the days go on.

Great tour, it always looks different through someone else's eyes, or camera.

That said, they are very rare here. Some Vancouverites could probably help me out here in a list of all the locations of palm trees around the city:

- English Bay
- Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby
- Grandview Corners shopping centre in South Surrey
- Dundarave / Ambleside in West Vancouver

Anywhere else?

I disagree with calling palm trees a rare sight in Vancouver, considering they don't grow naturally they are very common. Walk around the neighborhoods of Vancouver's west side and you will see that about a quarter of the houses have at least one palm. White Rock beach has them too, and I have one growing in my yard.

Great collection of photos BTW!

Nice to see Shangri-La all glassed over now - I'll have to have a closer look at it when I get to Vancouver for the Christmas holidays!

Great set(s)! Yea the palms are everywhere if you look for them.
I saw them in those traffic-calming roundabouts the other day in the West End (looked freshly planted?) and thought that was kind of amusing for some reason...

It's nice to see some pics from outside of the downtown and the city. The bridges, esp. Golden Ears, are interesting to see too.

Great city, man. Vancouver has a lot of skyscrapers for a city of its size.

That skylift thing looks fun. I'd love to check out Van some day.

Here's a photo I took of Vancouver last year when I went to see a Canuck's Game.

I took it from the top floor balcony of the Hospital.

Enough with the Condo High-rises! In my opinion, Vancouver needs some new Office Towers!
